Frequently Asked Questions | Advertisers

On this webpage, you will find all the information needed to sign up as an Advertiser in the platform and to create, optimize, and track your campaign's performance.

Getting started

What is EasyPlatform?

EasyPlatform is a platform for media buying in Bulgaria and North Macedonia. You can publish ads and advertise your products on multiple websites in those countries.

EasyPlatform is also a service for creation and hosting of interactive ads or dynamic product ads. With our help you can get highly effective and customized HTML5 banners and use them on any other ad platform like Google Ads or DV360.

Where will my ads be shown?

EasyPlatform works with a multitude of websites with vast reach. You can review the full list of active websites in the platform. Your advertisements will be shown only in the sites you have chosen in your campaign settings.

How much does it cost to use the platform?

As an advertiser in EasyPlatform you only pay for the actual clicks or impressions depending on the price model you use. There are no subscription taxes, additional fees, or commissions! You only have to deposit a sum/budget for advertising in your profile account. You can make a payment in the menu Billing » Payments » New Payment and the sum will be in your profile after the successful transaction. The registration itself is absolutely free.

After you have made a successful payment in the platform, you may start your campaigns. The sums which are spent by them are withdrawn from your profile balance and cannot exceed the payment you have made.

What pricing models do you support?

You can run campaigns based on one of the available pricing models, depending on your goals, creative, and budget spend:

  • Cost per Click (CPC): you are charged once a user initiates a click on your ad. All impressions (times your ad was shown) are free. You can start a CPC campaign from the Network menu after logging into your account.
  • Cost per Action (CPA): this type of pricing model is available for interactive banner ads or video ads. The idea is that a certain user action (interaction) is charged like - pull, drag, flip, rotate, play etc. Which action is being charged exactly depends on the concept and interactivity of the banner.
  • Cost per Mille (CPM): this pricing model means you pay for 1000 impressions of your ad. CPM campaigns appear the Direct Deals menu and can be started only with a request to our team. The CPM pricing is also used for our ad serving campaigns, which are suitable for banner hosting and using our innovative HTML5 creatives outside our platform (for example on Google Ads or DV360.
What is the minimum sum to start with?

You can make a payment of your choice but no less than 50 EUR or 50 USD. The payment is made in the menu Billing » Payments and via the button New Payment.

What type of payment methods do you support?

You can choose from two types of payment methods - Credit Card or Wire Transfer.

If you choose Credit Card, please prepare your card in front of you to be able to enter the necessary credentials.

If you choose Wire Transfer, an automatic bank order will be issued in order to be able to make the payment easier. You can find it under the label "Wire Transfer" in the list with payments, which you can find in the Billing » Payments menu.

After the successful transaction the payment will be approved by our admins and the sum will be added to your profile. An electronic invoice will be issued and available for download in menu Billing » Invoices.

Ad Campaigns

How do I create my first campaign?

Start with the Network CPC/CPA menu and use the "New Campaign" button. Follow the wizard to select the type of campaign you'll be creating:

  • Responsive ads campaign (Cost-per-Click)
  • Video ads campaign (Cost-per-Play)
  • Banner ads campaign (Cost-per-Click)

If you are not sure which is the right ad format for you, read here more details about the different types of advertising formats.

What settings does the campaign have?

here are the most important settings of a campaign:

  • Label of the campaign - give a distinctive name for your campaign in order to differentiate the campaign, its targeting, and purpose, for example: November 2022 - Hats - Banners - Mobile"
  • Website targeting - you can choose where your ads will be shown. You can filter or block sites according to their category or content by your choice.
  • Daily and Campaign budget - you can define the maximum daily budget the campaign may spend. Besides this, you can define the overall campaign budget. This is useful when you have more than one active campaign and you want to distribute the budget among them. In this way, every campaign will spend exactly as much as you have defined.

There are additional targeting options by your choice:

  • Device Targeting - Mobile devices, Tablets and Desktop
  • OS Targeting
  • ISP Targeting
  • Day Parting
  • Geo Targeting
  • Targeting by user audience
  • Targeting by interests

After you have edited the campaign settings, you have to save the campaign and the settings by pressing the Save button and later upload or create your ads. The other option is to upload/create them right away by pressing the button Save and add new creative.

What is "Delivery" and "Status" of a campaign?

The campaigns have three types of Delivery in the platform: Waiting, Online, Delivered.

  • Waiting – the campaign is automatically paused because of a certain reason. To find out what exactly, hover with your mouse pointer above the question mark next to the label "Waiting".
  • Running – all the criteria is met. The campaign is online and is being shown to users at the current moment.
  • Delivered - your campaign has reached the budget limit or the time period you have defined and has been paused automatically. It has met your requirements and has been Delivered successfully.

You can control whether your campaign is running or paused by the Status of the campaign. It is either Enabled or Disabled.

  • Enabled - you want the campaign to show online
  • Disabled - you do NOT want the campaign to show online

To change the Status of the campaign you only have to click on it and edit it by your choice. The changes are applied instantly and your campaign is modified in just a second.

May I make changes to the campaign after its initial setup?

Of course! You may edit it at any moment. Just after a few minutes after the edit, all the changes will be online. You just have to click on the label of the campaign to edit its settings.

How do I define the price per click?

When you start a new campaign the platform will suggest a default PPC. You can edit this price - the minimum is 0.02 EUR. The practical approach is to change the price according to the daily budget - if it is met before the end of the day, you can lower the price even more. And the contrary - if the campaign is struggling to gather the needed impressions and clicks, the price is too low and you should increase it to generate enough impressions and therefore clicks.

The higher the price per click is, the bigger the chance to win more impressions while competing with the other campaigns in the platform. If you use too many targeting options - the defined audience is very small and therefore the price is really important in order to win the impression and show your ads to the users that matter the most. For example, when you target a specific city, only users using desktops and only between 10:00 and 20:00 and even only users in the certain audience in our Targeting by Interest, the users are fewer and you have to beat the other campaigns in order to show your ads to them.

A specificity of the platform is that the price per click is not dynamic. This price is not the max-price and the platform decides how much every click costs. All the clicks in the platform will be at the price you have entered in the campaign.

Does the CTR (Click-Through-Rate) affect the visibility of my ads?

Yes, the platform rates the campaigns using Ad Score. It is formed by two factors - CTR (Click-Through-Ratio) and PPC (Price-Per-Click).

The Ad Score of each ad campaign is variable based on historical data. It is calculated for every ad tag in the platform which means that one campaign may have bigger priority in one site and lower in other and even different in one site but different placements. This algorithm helps your campaign be more visible on websites where the users are interested!

How can I track visits from my campaigns in other platforms or tools? Do you have dynamic tracking URL parameters (macros)?

UTM parameters are used to send data to any analytic software (like Google Analytics) by adding them to your links. You can attach custom UTM parameters to the link or use dynamic parameters supported by the platform:

  • {{adid}} parameter dynamically populates the ad ID
  • {{adtype}} parameter dynamically populates the ad type - banner ads/native ads/video ads
  • {{adsize}} parameter dynamically populates the size of the ad
  • {{publisherurl}} dynamically populates the domain from which the click comes
  • {{campaignid}} dynamically populates the ID of the campaign
  • {{pricingmodel}} dynamically populates the campaign type - cpc/cpa/cpm
  • {{device}} dynamically populates the device type - mobile/desktop/tablet
  • {{cost}} dynamically populates the price per click.

UTM parameters are added to the end of the link, after a '?' mark. Here is an example link with added UTMs: /?utm_source=easyplatform&utm_medium={{pricingmodel}}&utm_content={{adunit}}&utm_term={{publisherurl}}&utm_campaign={{campaignid}}

Targeting Options

Do you provide any targeting tools for my ads?

Yes. Here at EasyPlatform, you can take advantage of our adverse targeting tools which include targeting by Time period (by weekdays and hour-parting), Location, Device, Operating system, Interest, and Demographic. You can change your campaign anytime by clicking on the name of your campaign or from the Settings tab under any campaign.

What is targeting by Time period?

You can choose at exactly what time to show your ads to users - based on week days and hour-parting. You can use these targeting options to start or stop your campaign during a certain time period. You can also set a start and end date and hour within a 5 minute precision.

What is targeting by location?

We offer you IP-based targeting which ensures that your campaign is shown to only the users of your desired location. We use data from the leading company MaxMind™ which ensures precise targeting according to your needs.

What is targeting by device and OS?

You can choose on what devices your ads are shown on - Desktop, Tablet, Mobile, Other. You can also precise your targeting by choosing a certain operating system only - Windows, iOS, Android, or other. This is very beneficial if your ads are based on a certain mobile app.

What is targeting by ISP?

You can target users based on their Internet Service Provider (ISP). Internet service is generally specific for different regions and different countries, and you can use it to target different audiences in a specific country, based on their provider.

What is targeting by interests and demographic (3rd party data)?

Based on anonymous cookie data we can track and analyze the online behavior of our users. We create different user profiles based on their gender and their interests. By using this data you can target your ads to only a certain gender for example or interest group. We have over 25 available interest categories!

What is targeting by audience (1st party data)?

Our Audience Center will allow you to track events on your website, build segments based on users’ activity, track conversions with post-view and post-click technology. By doing so you can remind users of your product, help them finish their order, or only target entirely new users!

You can use two types of data for your audience:

  1. Click and interaction data from your own campaigns - this way you can target users who have made (or haven't) the desired action.
  2. You can place our targeting pixel code on your website which tracks a variety of user actions on your website (such as page view, add to cart, purchase, scroll, etc.), and use this data to create user audiences. You can visit our detailed article on how to implement and use our pixel code correctly.

The first step is to enable the Audience Center from your account - navigate to the Audience menu and click on Activate Audience Center. After this you can begin creating your custom user audiences from the Create audience button in the same tab.

Ad Formats

What type of ads can I use?

You may choose between Responsive Ads and Banner Ads. They have different looks and different effect on the users:

Responsive Ads are paid on click (CPC, Cost-per-Click). They are easy-to-create ads with a title, description, and up to 5 images which rotate in a carousel. They are a good choice for presenting certain offers and products. When there is more than one image in an ad, they rotate and the users can slide them seeing several images of the same product.

Video Ads are paid per play or click (CPA or cost-per-action model). They're responsive in-stream ads containing a title, description, and a video which you can upload via a YouTube link. When you press the Play button, the video starts with sound, and its visibility is 100% guaranteed. This makes the video ads ideal for audio-visual impact and brand awareness, achieved at a very affordable price.

Banners can be interactive HTML5 ads, dynamic product ads or static images (JPEG, WebP, PNG, GIF). Interactive HTML5 banners are paid according to the CPA (cost-per-action) model, which means advertisers pay the the first interaction that occurs on them. Static and animated HTML5 banners, where there is no other option than clicking, are paid according to the CPC (cost-per-click) model.

If you are not sure which is the right format for you, read here more details about the different types of advertising formats.

How do I create responsive ads?

You can create new responsive ads by clicking the button Create new native ad in the Native ads menu or just click New ad under the campaign name to which you want to create your ads. We recommend the second way because it is easier.

  • Enter the title of your ad.
  • Enter the description of your ad.
  • Enter the final landing page link, where you want to redirect the users who click on the ad.
  • The images for the ad can be uploaded from your computer; selected from already uploaded images in other campaigns, or selected from our Gallery. In our Gallery you can find high-quality, free to use Stock images.

We require images of two sizes – one with minimum size of 400×300px with 4:3 ratio and one with maximum size of 600×314px with 1:1,91 ratio. This way your ad will have the best representation in different placements and optimal visibility.

How do I upload my banner ads?

You can do so by clicking on the link Add new banner under the name of your campaign.

  • Choose the type of banner you are uploading - HTML5 banner or static image (.jpg, .gif or.png).
  • If you have chosen HTML5 banner, please select the size of the banner. Banner sizes supported by the platform are: 300×250px, 336×280px, 300×600px, 336×600px, 600×220px, 600×400px, 728×90px, 728×250px, 970×250px. The maximum weight of the banners is 150 KB.
  • Upload it by clicking on the Browse button.
  • Enter the final landing page link, where you want to redirect the users who click on the ad.

  • Enter the description of your ad.
  • Enter the final landing page link, where you want to redirect the users who click on the ad.
  • You can upload the video for the ad via a YouTube link. You need to have a video uploaded to Youtube marked as "Unlisted" (hidden video) with a duration no longer than 30 seconds.

Creating Audiences and Conversion Tracking

Can I set up a tracking pixel on my website and in what menu can I find it?

We have a custom tracking pixel that you can implement on your website. The first step is to login into the platform and activate the Audience Center from the Audience menu. Everything can be set up in just a few steps:

  1. Activate Audience Center by clicking on the green activation button.
  2. Next, generate your custom EasyPlatform tracking pixel code. You can choose to implement it on the website yourself or send detailed instructions to the responsible person via email.
  3. If you have chosen to implement it yourself - just copy the code and place it on your website or place it using Google Tag Manager.

Read our detailed article on how to successfully implement our tracking pixel here.

Can you help me with the pixel code implementation?

Of course! Our team will be happy to assist you with the pixel implementation - feel free to contact us and request assistance.

What conversion tracking options do you offer?

You can track a variety of events which happen on your website from the platform, such as Page View, Lead, Add to Cart, Purchase, and many more, including custom events created by you. Once you implement our pixel code it will start sending data about events on your website to the platform. Make sure you set up everything correctly so the data in the platform is accurate. In the Reports menu, you can see data regarding conversions. You can see reports based on campaigns, ads, websites, devices, etc., so you can better understand the conversion data and use it to optimize your campaigns.

What is the attribution model used in the platform?

Apart from counting how many conversions have been made, the platform also lets you see if the conversion took place after an ad impression, after an ad interaction (for HTML5 banner ads), or after an ad click. This way you have detailed data about the conversion process. The column names in the reports provide the time periods that are taken into account when reporting conversions.

Can I create audiences based on custom events from my website?

Yes, you can create a custom user audience based on events from your website and only show your ads to that particular audience. After activating the Audience Center, you can create an audience from the New audience button in the Audience menu. You can set in detail which users exactly to include (or exclude) in the audience using our advanced settings. Read our detailed article on how to successfully create a custom user audience here.

Can I create a user audience without implementing a tracking pixel on my website?

Yes, you can use the data from views, interactions, and clicks on your campaigns to create user audiences. In this way, you can target users who have initiated (or haven’t) a certain action. Read our detailed article on how to successfully create a custom user audience here.

Using the Platform as a Creative Serving Solution

When and how can I use the platform as a creative ad server?

When our team creates interactive HTML5 banners or dynamic product banners for you and you want to use them outside the platform (for example, in Google Ads or in DV360), you need to pay for hosting the creatives.

Hosting our banners is done by using our serving tags that are loaded as 3rd party scripts in other external platforms. Our team will fully assist you in these situations by making the necessary settings and providing creative tags and detailed guidelines for uploading them to your chosen advertising platform.

How much does it cost to use the platform as a creative serving solution?

Pricing for ad serving is based on 1000 served impressions (CPM). Our prices start at 0.20 EUR and depend on the country in which the banners will be served, and also on the volume of impressions. The amount is deducted from your account balance once the ad serving campaign is activated.

There is no monthly or yearly fee for ad serving - you need to deposit an amount in your Advertiser account and pay in advance. The amount you deposit has to be consistent with your planned impression volume.

I need to create dynamic product banners and use them on Google Ads
By using dynamic product banners and a product feed hosted on our platform, you can have a dynamic product remarketing in your Google Ads account. Visit this page and read about creating dynamic product banners and using them in Google Ads..
How can I upload a platform serving tag (hosted banner) on Google Ads?
Our platform tags are compatible with Google Ads as we are a certified Google 3rd party Ad Serving partner. Visit this page and read about uploading our tag on the Google Ads platform.
