Flip + Countdown - Event Promotion
When we are working with a limited time frame such as the start date of a certain event, our responsibility to inform and engage the audience multiplies. Users need to have all the details, in the most easily accessible way. For this reason, when we were provided with the task to promote a major yoga event, we chose a double-sided interactive banner.
First, we draw attention to the event. We have the event name in large bold letters, the yogi's name, his face, the event date, time, venue, aand the two ticket categories with their price. And since all this wasn't enough - we added a large countdown bar which in real time shows how much time is left until the start of the event, creating a sense of urgency.
Next, we navigate users users via a pulsating arrow to flip and see the other side of the banner, which features the event program in full. This is beneficial in a few ways. It gives the advertiser a chance to promote the event in full, provide all the event details in one ad, and communicate it with the user while still on banner level, even before visiting the website / landing page. Also, interaction data is highly important in this case, especially for remarketing purposes, as we have a real indicator that a user has shown interest, explored the program and initiated a click.
